PEMSA was founded in 1959 to conduct exploratory drilling, development, and to provide those services inherent to the oil industry, including the construction of oil and gas pipelines.

The company originally engaged solely in land drilling. Seven years later, it began to branch out into sea exploration, becoming a pioneer in exploratory sea drilling in Mexico. Later, by 2008, PEMSA would lead the industry as the first Mexican company providing complete drilling services.

The vision of PEMSA is to maintain good relations with the community, being committed to caring for and improving the environment, and aiding in the wellbeing of those around us.
